The stent, made of a material similar to dissolvable sutures, dissolves within three years.

Esprit showed clear superiority to angioplasty in the LIFE-BTK trial presented at last year’s Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics conference and published in The New England Journal of Medicine.
