Enveric Biosciences Inc. has released promising preclinical results for its lead neuroplastogen drug candidate, EB-003, in the open space forced swim test, a preclinical mouse model of severe depression and despair. In the first study, an oral dose of EB-003 at 30 mg/kg significantly reduced depression-like behavior within 30 minutes of administration.
Enveric Biosciences Inc. has completed preclinical pharmacokinetic (PK) studies of EB-003 in rats and dogs, further supporting EB-003’s oral bioavailability and targeted nonhallucinogenic profile. EB-003 is a neuroplastogen designed to promote neuroplasticity without inducing hallucinations in patients with difficult-to-address mental health disorders.
Gilgamesh Pharmaceuticals Inc. is getting $65 million up front in an early stage deal with Abbvie Inc. to discover neuroplastogens targeting psychiatric disorders, with the chance to receive up to $1.95 billion in options fees and milestones, plus tiered royalties in the mid-single to low-double digits from any products emerging from the collaboration.
