The Trump administration showered the FDA with love in its fiscal 2019 budget, but the Senate . . . not so much. With no debate Thursday, the Senate Appropriations Committee agreed to advance a spending package to the full Senate that would give the agency $5.4 billion in overall spending, even less than the $5.57 billion called for in a separate bill approved by the House Appropriations Committee last week.
