It remains to be seen whether the 2009 H1N1 swine-origin influenza A virus will fizzle out this summer, or if it will end up wreaking havoc on the Southern Hemisphere's seasonal flu season and boomerang back to the Northern Hemisphere as a widespread killer to equal that of the 1918 pandemic as some have feared.
