The Health and Human Services Department reported granting $800M in funding for information technology services. Lockheed Martin Information Systems & Global Services (Bethesda, Maryland), Computer Sciences (Falls Church, Virginia), Information Innovators (Springfield, Virginia) and HMS Technologies (Martinsburg, Virginia) won spots on the task order contract. The IT Services for HHS contract has four functional categories with a three-year base period and four one-year options, according to a notice published on the Federal Business Opportunities web site on Aug. 31. Two of the categories are set asides for small businesses.
HHS initially wrote a presolicitation notice for the IT services contract in August 2008 and held an industry day in November 2008. The scope of work includes infrastructure support services, seat management services for nearly 9,000 end users of IT devices; application hosting services and disaster recovery services.
