A federal court in San Francisco has determined that Boston Scientific (Natick, Massachusetts) will have to pay $26.1 million in royalties to Johnson & Johnson's (New Brunswick, New Jersey) Cordis (Miami Lakes, Florida) unit due to a patent infringement related to tubes used to unclog coronary arteries, according to wire news service reports.

Those payments are intended to cover royalties Boston Scientific owes on Taxus, Liberté, Express and other stents from October 2007 to March 31, 2009, as reported in a proposed judgment filed by the companies in U.S. District Court in San Francisco.
