OmniComm Systems (Fort Lauderdale, Florida) reported that it has entered into a settlement agreement with DataSci (Maryland, Virginia) for the purpose of resolving the patent infringement lawsuit between the companies.

Effective April 9, OmniComm entered into a licensing arrangement with DataSci. OmniComm CEO Cornelis Wit said, "We are pleased to have come to an agreement in this matter. This will provide our customers an assurance that our EDC application TrialMaster is free from any patent issues."

OmniComm provides customer-driven Internet solutions to pharmaceutical, biotechnology, research and medical device organizations that conduct life clinical trial research.

DataSci develops electronic data capture methodologies that increase speed and safety of bringing new pharmaceuticals and medical devices to market.
