Synergetics USA (O'Fallon, Missouri) reported the signing of a new, three-year agreement with Codman & Shurtleff (Raynham, Massachusetts).
Codman will continue to market and distribute certain bipolar generators and related disposables and accessories supplied by Synergetics. Additionally, Synergetics and Codman extended the license agreement providing for the continued licensing of Synergetics' Malis trademark to Codman for use with certain of its products, including those covered by the distribution agreement.
In other agreements and contracts news:
• IntraNexus (Virginia Beach, Virginia) reported that it has signed a distribution agreement with Mediware Information Systems (Lenexa, Kansas) that enables IntraNexus to re-market Mediware's Ascend pharmacy-management system as an integrated component of the company's Sapphire health information system.
Sapphire is a web-based technology platform for healthcare institutions that enables facilities to achieve a fully integrated electronic medical record to maximize safety and efficiency.
• CareView Communications (Plano, Texas) said that it executed an agreement with St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center (Paterson, New Jersey) in which St. Joseph's engaged CareView to provide the CareView System in its patient rooms as well as additional areas throughout the Regional Medical Center.
The CareView System is a suite of products that brings information technology directly to patients, families and healthcare providers by connecting them through one easy-to-install and simple-to-use system.
"St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center is pleased to offer our patients, their families and friends the enhanced communication and access capabilities offered by the CareView System. This system also provides our team of healthcare professionals with a truly advanced means of additional connectivity with our patients," said William McDonald, president/CEO, St. Joseph's Healthcare System.
• Just after winning a $97.5 million, single staffing award serving the U.S. Navy on the West Coast, InGenesis Medical Staffing (San Antonio) reported that another of its InGenesis Arora (IA) companies has landed a substantial contract staffing Navy facilities on the East Coast. IA will be one of four human resources companies sharing the responsibility of managing the multiple award task order scheduled to go into effect July 1, 2009. IA is a joint venture between InGenesis and The Arora Group (Gaithersburg, Maryland).
