• Niraj Vasisht, PhD, was promoted to senior VP of product development and chief technical officer of BioDelivery Sciences International (BDSI; Raleigh, North Carolina). Vasisht joined BDSI in 2005 as VP of product development. BDSI is a specialty pharmaceutical company focused on developing products to address growing market opportunities, including conditions such as pain.
• CoreValve (Irvine, California) said it has expanded its board of directors by electing Frank Fischer as a new member. Fischer has served on the NeuroPace board of directors since 1998 and joined the company as CEO in January 2000. CoreValve specializes in valve replacement systems.
• John Simmons has been named general manager of KCI Medical Canada (Mississauga, Ontario). Most recently, John was VP of U.S. sales and marketing for BD Medical Diabetes Care. A subsidiary of KCI (San Antonio), KCI Medical Canada specializes in wound care, tissue regeneration and therapeutic support system markets.
