Holly McGarraugh was named president/CEO of Apieron (Menlo Park, California). McGarraugh joined Apieron as VP of marketing in January. Apieron makes a simple-to-use, non-invasive monitor for the measurement of exhaled nitric oxide for the management of asthma.

• CSA Medical (Baltimore) reported the expansion of its staff and management. The sales team has added two new representatives, Arlinda Graves covering Southern California and Anthony Malatesta covering the Mid-Atlantic region. Michael Breault was promoted to national product manager and Rosa Abraham was hired as product manager. Ethel Rubin, PhD, was named chief science officer and Cindy Lowder was promoted to VP of clinical operations. Karen McKenzie, CSA Medical's former clinical trials coordinator, has been promoted to clinical trials project manager. Ron Burr was named chief technology officer. Colleen Kistler was named director of regulatory and quality assurance.

Kelly McCrann was named chairman/CEO of Xcorporeal (Los Angeles). McCrann has served as a member of the company's board since October 2007. McCrann previously was senior VP of DaVita. Xcorporeal makes extra-corporeal platform technology to be used in devices to replace the function of various human organs.
