• Biolmagene (Cupertino, California) reported the appointment of G. Steven Burrill as chairman and two new board members., Taras Silecky of Ascension Health Ventures and Dr. Ajit Singh, CEO of the Image and Knowledge Management business of Siemens Healthcare. These apppointments come on the heels of the recent closing of a $26 million Series D financing round led by Burrill & Company, Ascension Health Ventures and National Healthcare Services, along with existing investors Artiman Ventures and ICCP Ventures. BioImagene makes digital pathology solutions for cancer diagnosis.

• Centene (St. Louis) said that Patrick Rooney was promoted to president/CEO of Centene's Indiana subsidiary, Managed Health Services. Rooney most recently was VP of health plan finance for Centene. Centene is a multi-line healthcare enterprise that provides programs and related services to individuals receiving benefits under Medicaid, including the State Children's Health Insurance Program, Foster Care, Supplemental Security Income and Medicare.

Lisa Colleran has been promoted to president of the LifeCell business of Kinetic Concepts (KCI; San Antonio) and a member of KCI's executive committee. Colleran previously was senior VP of commercial operations for LifeCell. Kinetic Concepts makes high-technology therapies and products for the wound care, tissue regeneration and therapeutic support system markets.

Daniel Allison was named CEO and a director of PHNS (Dallas). Allison spent most of his 30-year career at EDS, most recently as manager of EDS' North American operations. PHNS provides information technology and business process services to hospitals.

The Sage Group plc (Tampa, Florida) said that Sage Software Healthcare, one of Sage's four operating divisions in North America, has named Lindy Benton as COO. Benton has spent the past 15 years in healthcare information technology at Cerner, most recently as the VP/GM of Cerner's National New Business Development group. Sage Software Healthcare provides integrated electronic health records, EDI applications and physician practice management systems to ambulatory care practices.

Ronda Harris has been named chief accounting officer of Symmetry Medical (Warsaw, Indiana). She previously was assistant controller of General Electric's consumer and industrial business. Symmetry Medical makes products for the orthopedic device industry.
