• Bioheart (Sunrise, Florida) said its board has named Howard Leonhardt, the company's co-founder, board chairman and chief technology officer, to serve as CEO following the resignation of William Pinon as the company's president/CEO. Bioheart is focused on autologous (patient-derived) cell therapies and devices for the treatment of chronic and acute heart damage.
• Alan Portela was named COO of CliniComp (San Diego). Portela is returning to the company after serving as executive VP of client services at Global Care Quest. CliniComp makes high acuity clinical documentation systems and surveillance solutions.
• Dennis Runyan was named VP of sales for Del Global Technologies' (Franklin Park, Illinois) digital radiographic solutions in the Americas. Runyan joins Del Global from Anexa, a subsidiary of Analogic, where he served as VP of sales and service. Del Global Technologies makes diagnostic imaging systems for medical, dental and veterinary applications through the Del Medical Systems Group.
• Neil Blewitt has been named senior managing director of Misonix's (Farmingdale, New York) Labcaire subsidiary. Blewitt joins Misonix with more than 20 years of business unit and general manager experience, all in international manufacturing companies. Misonix makes minimally invasive ultrasonic medical device technology.
• Michael Voss has been named VP/GM of vascular intervention at Spectranetics (Colorado Springs, Colorado). Prior to joining Spectranetics, Voss was the global VP of marketing for Bard Access Systems at C.R. Bard. Spectranetics makes the only excimer laser approved in the U.S., Europe and Japan for use in minimally invasive cardiovascular procedures.
