Raymond Land was named senior VP/CFO of Clarient (Aliso Viejo, California), effective June 5, joining the company from Safeguard Scientifics, where he was CFO. Clarient makes anatomic pathology and molecular testing services resource for pathologists, oncologists and the pharmaceutical industry.

Don Rice was named VP of U.S. sales for Imris (Winnipeg, Canada), joining the company after 23 years with GE Healthcare. Imris makes surgical imaging products.

Dennert Ware was named to the board of Pelikan Technologies (Palo Alto, California). Ware was the CEO of Kinetic Concepts. Pelikan Technologies makes hand-held diagnostic and monitoring devices.

David Jackson, PhD, was named executive VP of Response Genetics (Los Angeles). Jackson was most recently with ThinkPanmure. Response Genetics makes diagnostic tests for cancer.

Signalife (Los Angeles) said that it has named Lee Ehrlichman, a member of the company's board, as president/COO. Ehrlichman previously was president/CEO of Cardiac Telecom. Lowell Harmison, Signalife's prior president/CEO, has taken an indefinite leave of absence as both an officer and director, during which he is expected to consult to the company. Rowland Perkins, previously Signalife's interim administrative CEO, will assume all duties of CEO. Signalife specializes in monitoring, detection and prevention of disease through continuous biomedical signal monitoring.

SonoSite (Bothell, Washington) named Richard Martin, PhD to its board. Martin was president of Medtronic Physio Control from 1998 until his retirement in 2001. SonoSite makes hand-carried ultrasound for the point of care.
