• Thomas Rosa was named CFO and senior VP of Advanced Supercon (Billerica, Massachusetts). Rosa previously was VP and CFO at American Superconductor.

• David Mulder has been appointed CFO of Biolase Technology (Irvine, California), replacing interim CFO Frederick Capallo, who will continue to serve as corporate controller. For the past two years, Mulder was CFO/COO of a private equity turnaround company. Biolase Technology is a dental laser company.

• Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida (Tampa) said that David Pizzo has been named market president-West Florida, effective immediately. Pizzo most recently was VP of advertising, brand management and market communications.

• Barbara Dowling has been named senior VP of customer engagements at Cadient Group (West Conshohocken, Pennsylvania). Prior to joining Cadient, Dowling was senior VP of strategy, sales and service at Lathian Systems. Cadient Group is a marketing network focused on the healthcare industry.

• Stephen Hall was named senior VP/CFO of Helicos BioSciences (Cambridge, Massachusetts). Hall most recently was senior VP/CFO of TriPath Imaging. Helicos BioSciences specializes in genetic analysis technologies for the research, drug discovery and diagnostic markets.
