Comtech Telecommunications (Melville, New York) said its New York-based subsidiary, Comtech PST, has received a follow-on contract award valued at $2.4 million for solid state high power RF amplifiers from an unnamed “major domestic medical instrumentation provider.”
The amplifiers are used by the world’s largest supplier of image-guided radiotherapy and image-guided intensity modulated radiation therapy medical equipment providing advanced approaches for the treatment of cancer. These advanced forms of treatment deliver versatile complex doses of radiation at greater speed and accuracy thereby minimizing damage to surrounding healthy tissue, according to Comtech.

This award demonstrates Comtech’s technical strength in high power amplifier technology for medical instrumentation uses, as well as the performance and quality of the Comtech PST product line.”
