• Air Methods (Denver) reported that, effective March 31, Paul Tate will become its new COO. Tate has been a member of the Air Methods board since August 2003. Air Methods is a provider of emergency air medical transportation and medical services.
• Bill Van Huis was named chief revenue officer of American Laser Centers (Farmington Hills, Michigan). Van Huis most recently was chief revenue officer of La Petite Academy. American Laser Centers is a provider of laser hair removal and other noninvasive aesthetic services.
• Anthony Ruggiero has been named VP for sales and business development for Ceremed (Los Angeles). Ruggiero previously was with Invibio. Ceremed specializes in technology in the field of soluble alkylene oxide copolymers.
• Todd Sloan has been named VP of strategic and professional marketing for Conceptus (Mountain View, California). Sloan was most recently with Boston Scientific. Conceptus makes the Essure permanent birth control system.
• The Cooper Companies (Pleasanton, California) named John Weber president of the CooperVision contact lens unit. Weber previously served as president of Asia Pacific for the company since April and VP of worldwide manufacturing and distribution for CooperVision. The Cooper Companies makes specialty healthcare products through its CooperVision and CooperSurgical units.
• John Wilhoite has been promoted from VP of finance and controller to CFO and treasurer at Emageon (Birmingham, Alabama), effective March 31. Emageon makes medical information technology systems for hospitals and healthcare networks.
• John O'Connell has been named VP of sales and business development for Finesse Solutions (Santa Clara, California). O'Connell most recently was at OSIsoft. Finesse makes measurement and control systems for life sciences.
• Timothy Murnane was named executive VP and COO of NightHawk Radiology Holdings (Coeur D'Alene, Idaho). Since 1995, Murnane has been owner and principal of Bantry Holdings.
• Bob Kondraske was named COO of Omron Healthcare (Bannockburn, Illinois). Kondraske was previously VP of sales development at McNeil Consumer Healthcare. Omron Healthcare makes blood pressure monitors for home use.
• Opnext (Eatontown, New Jersey) said that James Horiuchi, VP of North American sales, has been promoted to senior VP of global sales. Horiuchi's promotion coincides with the resignation of Christopher Lin from the role of senior VP of global sales to pursue other opportunities. Opnext makes laser technologies.
