MicroIslet retains investment group

MicroIslet (San Diego), a biotechnology company engaged in the development and commercialization of transplantation therapies for diabetes, has engaged the Investor Relations Group (New York) to serve as its new financial relations and corporate communications firm.

DoveBid to run online auction for Best Lab

DoveBid (Los Angeles), a provider of capital asset auction and valuation services, said that it will conduct a multi-million-dollar lab equipment inventory reduction sale via a featured online auction for Best Lab Deals (Garner, North Carolina). Best Lab Deals is a provider of lab equipment and supplies for the biotech, pharmaceutical, healthcare, and food industries.

The online auction will begin Wednesday at 9 a.m., EST, and will end Friday, at 8 p.m., EST. On-site previews of the assets are by appointment only.

Featured items include analyzers, baths, centrifuges, dryers, electrophoresis, evaporators, filters, microscopes, mills, pipettes, pumps, refractometers, refrigerators/freezers, spectrophotometers.

Pacer Health reopens S. Cameron hospital

Pacer Health (Cameron Parish, Louisiana), an owner-operator of acute care hospitals and psychiatric care facilities in the Southeastern U.S., reported the reopening of South Cameron Memorial Hospital in Cameron, Louisiana, on Nov. 26. The hospital was forced to cease operations as a result of Hurricane Rita in 2005.

South Cameron Memorial Hospital passed its state inspection prior to the Thanksgiving Holiday on its first attempt, entitling it to reopen.
