• Advanced Cell Technology (ACT; Los Angeles) said that it has promoted Jonathan Dinsmore, PhD, as senior VP of regulatory and clinical and Ivan Wolkind to the position of senior VP of finance, administration and chief accounting officer. Dinsmore was previously the company’s VP and GM, while Wolkind was previously VP of finance and chief accounting officer. ACT is a biotech applying cellular technology in the emerging field of regenerative medicine.

• Charles River Laboratories International (Wilmington, Massachusetts) reported the promotions of three industry veterans: Brian Bathgate, PhD, to corporate senior VP and president of European preclinical services; Jorg Geller, DVM, PhD, to corporate senior VP of Japanese operations and global large research model and avian operations’ and Christopher Perkin to corporate senior VP and president of Canadian preclinical services. Bathgate joined Charles River in December 2004, following the Inveresk merger, and was named corporate VP and president of European preclinical services. Geller joined Charles River Germany in 1986, overseeing its research model production operations. Perkin joined Charles River in 2004, and was named corporate VP and president of Canadian preclinical services. Charles River specializes in bringing drugs to market faster and more efficiently.

Donna Hyland has been promoted from COO to CEO of Children’sHealthcare (Atlanta), effective at the start of 2008. Children’s Healthcare operates three hospitals serving more than 500,000 patients each year.

Stephen Corbeil has been named the president of the Midwest Division in Kansas City of HCA (Nashville, Tennessee). Most recently, Corbeil was senior VP of operations of Tenet Healthcare’s Central Northeast Region and Outpatient Division.
