Fleming is a family physician in Shreveport, Louisiana and currently serves as a founding director and as chief medical officer for Antidote Education. Digital Healthcare specializes in retinal risk assessment.
• Haemonetics (Braintree, Massachusetts) reported that Keiko Hattori was named president of Haemonetics Japan (Toyko). Hattori previously was president of Amersham Biosciences KK. Haemonetics makes blood management solutions.
• Michael Bond has been named the VP engineering for IncisionTech/Specialty Blades (Staunton, Virginia). Bond joins the company following nearly 30 years in various roles for Gillette, including most recently as the assistant director of blade process engineering. IncisionTech provides critical cutting and piercing components and sub-assemblies used in surgical devices.
• William Ryan was named VP of corporate relations for Rapid Pathogen Screening (Sarasota, Florida). Most recently, Ryan was VP of corporate relations for Celleration. Rapid Pathogen Screening makes point-of-care diagnostic devices for ocular diseases.
• Ali Reza was named senior VP of special projects of Surgical Care Affiliates (SCA; Birmingham, Alabama). Prior to joining SCA, Reza was a principal with the Boston Consulting Group. Surgical Care Affiliates provides specialty surgical services.
• John Hynes was named COO of Symmetry Medical (Warsaw, Indiana). Prior to joining Symmetry, Hynes was responsible for strategic management of the total Rolls-Royce operational supply chain covering all seven Rolls-Royce manufacturing businesses. Symmetry makes products for the orthopedic device industry.
• TransMolecular (Cambridge, Massachusetts) reported the appointment of Nicholas Nicolaides, PhD, as non-executive chairman of the company’s board. Nicolaides currently serves as president/CEO of Morphotek. TransMolecular is a biotechnology company focused on targeted therapies for cancer.
