• Michael Bond has been named VP engineering for IncisionTech/Specialty Blades (Staunton, Virginia). Bond previously spent nearly 30 years in various roles with Gillette, including most recently assistant director of blade process engineering. IncisionTech provides critical cutting and piercing components and sub-assemblies used in surgical devices. Specialty Blades helps flexible packaging and other industrial companies improve their cutting, sealing and separating processes by providing the very best knives and blades for their application.
• Dean Gesme, Jr, MD, has been named corporate medical director for Navitas Cancer Rehabilitation Centers of America (Denver). In addition to providing care as a medical oncologist in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area, Gesme has served as past-chair of the National Coalition for Cancer Survivorship and past-chair of the Clinical Practice Committee of the American Society of Clinical Oncology. Navitas Cancer Rehabilitation Centers says it is the developer of an evidence-based approach to rehabilitation and supportive therapies for people with cancer.
• Gideon Sturlesi has been named corporate VP of business development of Lumenis (Yokneam, Israel). Sturlesi previously founded and was general partner of BioMedical Israel. Lumenis makes laser, light-based and radio frequency devices for surgical, aesthetic, ophthalmic, dental and veterinary applications.
• Ross Simmonds has been named CEO of SpineOvations (San Diego). Previously Simmonds was senior VP of worldwide marketing, sales and distribution for Interpore Cross International. SpineOvations develops biocompatible injectables for spinal disc integrity and other orthopedic applications.
• US Spine (Boca Raton, Florida) has named Dan Bernarde as VP of sales, and Linda Golob as VP of professional education. Previously, Bernarde was VP of corporate development at Alphatec Spine; Golob formerly was director of clinical education for Applied Spine Technologies. US Spine is makes spine implants used in a less invasive approach to tissue and motion preservation.
