Osteotech (Eatontown, New Jersey) reported a tissue supply agreement with LifeNet Health (Virginia Beach, Virginia).

LifeNet will provide Osteotech with tissue to use for its core DBM, Biocomposite and Collagen Technologies.

The agreement, which was effective as of Sept. 1, has an initial five-year term, which can be terminated earlier by either party on six-months notice, and automatically renews for successive two-year terms unless terminated by either party six months prior to renewal.

Osteotech already has an agreement with LifeNet and its distribution partner, Depuy Spine (Raynham, Massachusetts) for the processing and distribution of a private label DBM.

LifeNet is a full-service biomedical tissue banking system and a non-profit organ and tissue donation agency.

Osteotech provides OsteoBiologic solutions to surgeons and patients for the repair of the musculoskeletal system through the development of therapy-driven products intended to alleviate pain, promote biologic healing and restore function.

In other agreement news, Siemens Medical Solutions Diagnostics (Tarrytown, New York) and Sysmex America (Mundelein, Illinois) have extended a distribution agreement for automated urine sedimentation analyzers for an additional year.

Siemens will sell the Sysmex UF-100i fully automated urine cell analyzer and related ADVIA Urinalysis WorkCell in Canada and Puerto Rico.

Sysmex makes clinical laboratory systemization and solutions, including clinical diagnostics, automation and information systems. Siemens offers diagnostic solutions designed to assist in the diagnosis, monitoring and management of disease.
