• Dennis Colleran was named VP of R&D for IlluminOssMedical (Middletown, Rhode Island). Prior to joining IlluminOss Medical, Colleran was VP of R&D at Innovative Spinal Technologies. IlluminOss makes orthopedic systems.
• Lumenis (Yokneam, Israel) reported the appointment of Dale Koop as senior VP and GM of the Lumenis Aesthetic business unit effective Oct. 21. Prior to joining Lumenis, Koop held the role of GM at Sciton. Lumenis makes light-based radio frequency devices for surgical applications.
• Lianne McLean was named VP of marketing of NanoString Technologies (Seattle). McLean joins NanoString from Applied Biosystems where she served as director of global strategic marketing. NanoString is a life sciences tool company that has developed a technology for creating molecular barcodes for tagging individual molecules in a biological sample.
• Paul Ruflin was named president/COO of Noteworthy Medical Systems (Cleveland). Ruflin comes to Noteworthy from Deloitte Consulting. Noteworthy produces the market's only electronic health records with 100% provider adoption, according to the company.
• Alan Donald was named president of SpineMarkCRO Management (San Diego) and Alan Iftiniuk was named COO of SpineMark (also San Diego). Donald will work with medical device companies and physicians within the SpineMark network to establish clinical trial programs that offer patients the most advanced spine care. Iftiniuk will oversee SpineMark's Centers of Excellence. SpineMark is a medical management company is building a network of Spine Centers of Excellence to support and connect physicians, facilities and medical device companies in order to provide patients the best spine care
• Telemedicus (Houston) has promoted William Carmichael to VP of operations. Previously Carmichael held the director of marketing and media relations position. Telemedicus makes mobile medical communications technology.
