• ABRY Partners and Thurston Group (Alpharetta, Georgia) have named Frank Murphy as president/CEO of HealthPort. HealthPort was established as a result of the merger of SDS (Smart Document Solutions) and Companion Technologies in June 2007 and provides product and service solutions for the healthcare industry. Murphy will oversee the combined company integration and re-branding process. He said he plans to enhance HealthPort’s product and service offerings to focus on the expanded target market.

Michael Lambert has been named CFO of Advanced Medical Optics (AMO; Santa Ana, California). Most recently, Lambert was senior VP/CFO of Quest Software. AMO is an ophthalmic surgical device and eye care company.

Philip Vorwald has been named VP and general manager of the in vitro technologies division of Celsis International (Chicago). Previously, Vorwald was senior VP of commercial operations for Cytonome. Celsis is a life sciences company.
