• Ernest Allen has been named director of clinical operations of Cellectar (Madison, Wisconsin). Most recently, Allen was clinical manager for Tapestry Pharmaceuticals. Cellectar is a radiopharmaceuticals company.

• Marco Romano, MD, was named European medical director of Chiltern (London), a global contract research organization. Romano has experience in both the pharma and CRO Industries where he held executive positions, most recently with a large U.S.-based CRO.

• Stephen Lombardi was promoted to president/CEO of Helicos BioSciences (Cambridge, Massachusetts) from COO and executive VP of the company. Helicos makes genetic analysis technologies.

• Charles Peck, MD, was named VP and medical director of LifeMasters Supported SelfCare (San Francisco). Previously, Peck was chief medical officer of Take Care Health Systems. LifeMasters is a provider of health promotion and disease management programs.

• IlluminOss Medical (Middletown, Rhode Island) reported the election of John Pafford to the company’s board. Pafford most recently was president for the thoracolumbar group and technology development at Medtronic Spine. IlluminOss develops minimally invasive orthopedic systems.

• Jerome Workman has been named director of measurement systems for Luminous Medical (Carlsbad, California). He was most recently director of research, technology and applications at Thermo Fisher Scientific. Luminous is developing an automated glucose measurement system that addresses the demand for tight glycemic control.

• Alan Dance has been named chief commercial officer for NanoString Technologies (Seattle). Most recently Dance was SVP of business development at Affymetrix. NanoString develops technology for creating molecular barcodes for tagging individual molecules in a biological sample.

• Jerome Wilson has been named director of scientific affairs for Outcome Sciences (Cambridge, Massachusetts). Wilson previously was senior interdisciplinary scientist and team leader for Anthrax Therapeutics at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Outcome Sciences makes patient registries,post-approval studies, quality improvement programs and technology.

• John Ross has been named executive VP of sales and business development of Radlink (Redondo Beach, California). Most recently Ross was VP of sales at Ampronix. Radlink makes medical imaging systems.
