• Agilent Technologies (Santa Clara, California) said that Chris van Ingen, president of the company’s Bio-Analytical Measurement business, will retire on Oct. 31, the last day of Agilent’s fiscal year. Ingen was appointed to this position in 2001. Agilent makes products in communications, electronics, life sciences and chemical analysis.
• Bikash Sabata was named chief technology officer of BioImagene (Cupertino, California), and Mike Cusack was named VP of marketing. Sabata most recently held the position of co-founder and chief technology officer at Aginova; Cusack most recently was VP of sales and marketing at High Throughput Genomics. Biomagene makes total digital pathology solutions.
• Del Global Technologies (Franklin Park, Illinois) said that Joseph Flies, VP of operations has also been named to lead the newly formed universal product group. Del Global makes imaging systems for medical, dental and veterinary applications through its Del Medical Systems Group.
• Todd Nelson, PhD, was named CEO of eBioscience (San Diego). Nelson previously was VP of global corporate development at Invitrogen where he was VP of global corporate development. eBioscience makes products that support academic and government research institutions and pharmaceutical and biotech companies.
• Steven Diamond, PhD, has been named chief scientific officer of Magellan Biosciences (Chelmsford, Massachusetts). Diamond previously worked at Siemens Medical Solutions Diagnostics. Magellan makes point-of-care analyzers and automated systems for hospital-based labs and near-patient testing.
