Aetna (Plantation, Florida) reported that it has reached agreement on a one-year contract extension with 571-bed Holy Cross Hospital (Fort Lauderdale, Florida) and its employed physician group.

Members of Aetna’s commercial HMO and PPO plans will continue to receive covered in-patient and out-patient services, at in-network rates, at Holy Cross Hospital. The contract also adds in-network coverage benefits for members of Aetna’s group Medicare Advantage plans.

Aetna provides health benefits to about 315,000 members in South Florida. Those members have access to a contracted network of 57 hospitals, 1,900 primary-care physicians and 5,400 specialists.
