Barbara Rockett, MD, was elected the new president the American Medical Association Foundation (Chicago). Rockett is a surgeon in Newton, Massachusetts and has served on the AMA Foundation board since January 2001. Her term extends until July 2009. The AMA Foundation supports programs in medical education, research and public health.

• EDAP TMS (Lyon, France) reported the appointment of John Rewcastle, PhD, as international medical director. Rewcastle most recently worked with Endocare in the establishment of cryoablation as a treatment option for localized prostate cancer. EDAP specializes in high intensity focused ultrasound treatment of prostate cancer.

Mark Testerman was named VP of sales and marketing for NovaVision (Boca Raton, Florida). Testerman most recently co-founded Alimera Sciences, an ophthalmic pharmaceutical company. NovaVision makes products to help correct neurological visual impairments.

Elizabeth Peacock has been hired by Signalife (Greenville, South Carolina) as its global director of sales. Peacock most recently was VP of sales and marketing for Ameritox. Signalife is focused on the monitoring and detection of disease through continuous biomedical signal monitoring.
