• Candela (Wayland, Massachusetts) reported that Jonathan Kateman has joined Candela as VP and general manager, Home Products. Most recently, Kateman was VP of strategy and corporate development at 3Com. Candela makes medical and aesthetic lasers and light-based technologies.
• Cayenne Medical (Scottsdale, Arizona) said that it has named Daniel Murray as CFO and Timothy Nash VP of marketing. Murray previously was corporate controller for St. Francis Medical Technologies. Nash served as national sales manager for Medtronic Spine and Biologics. Cayenne Medical is a privately held sports medicine company
• Clarient (Aliso Viejo, California) reported that effective immediately James Agnello, senior VP and CFO has taken a short-term medical leave of absence from the company. Agnello is expected to make a full recovery and the company’s board and management are confident that his responsibilities will be effectively managed during this period. Clarient provides technology and services resource for pathologists, oncologists and the pharmaceutical industry.
• Robert Mathews was named executive VP and CFO of Viking Systems (San Diego). Prior to joining Viking, Mathews was senior VP and CFO at Cardinal Health’s Clinical Technologies and Services (CTS) segment. Viking makes high-performance vision systems and solutions for use in minimally invasive surgical (MIS) procedures.
