Swearingen Software (Houston) a developer of radiology information systems (RIS), reported a partnership with Connect Imaging (Honolulu, Hawaii), a provider of picture archiving and communication systems (PACS) to offer integrated, customized RIS/PACS solutions.
Randall Swearingen, founder and CEO of Swearingen, said, "By continuing to focus on our respective strengths while strategically integrating our two products, we have created an unprecedented RIS/PACS product that provides the best of both worlds."
According to Philip Manly, CEO of Connect Imaging, the goal in partnering with Swearingen Software is to help radiology departments streamline workflow and improve patient care. "Connect Imaging is committed to providing innovative, affordable PACS," Manly said. "By partnering with Swearingen, we'll be able to provide customized RIS/PACS solutions that address complex workflow and information management requirements. Rather than requiring users to change daily routines, we'll tailor fully integrated RIS/PACS solutions that suit their workflow needs."
Connect offers comprehensive PACS systems designed to fit the workplace needs and budgets of community hospitals and free-standing imaging centers. The company's software modules allow flexibility in configuration and provide PACS solutions that satisfy customer requirements without unnecessary cost.
Connect Imaging is based in Honolulu and maintains its assembly, testing, and technical support facilities in Oakdale, Pennsylvania.
In other agreements news: BioElectronics (Fredrick, Maryland) reported entering into a sales and distribution agreement with Eximeq (Corregidora, Mexico) to introduce the company's ActiPatch, drug-free therapy for treatment of swelling, pain, and soft and hard tissues injuries.
ActiPatch is an anti-inflammatory patch with an embedded battery operated microchip that delivers weeks of continuous pulsed therapy for less than $1 a day.
"We are encouraged and excited to see the growth in international distribution that has taken place recently for our company. I know that this relationship with Eximeq will benefit not only both companies but more importantly, bring the healing benefits of ActiPatch to the people of Mexico," said Andrew Whelan, president of BioElectronics.
Eximeq has provided the medical professional market in Mexico with technology since 1997.
