• Steve Lundy has been named senior VP of sales and marketing for Ciphergen Biosystems (BD; Fremont, California). Lundy previously was VP of sales and marketing for GeneOhm, acquired by BD in February 2006. While at GeneOhm, he led the commercial launch of molecular diagnostic assays including the first molecular test for Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus aureus. Ciphergen has ongoing diagnostic programs in oncology, cardiology and women’s health with an initial focus in ovarian cancer.
• James Dilger Jr., has been appointed VP of operations for eCardio Diagnostics (The Woodlands, Texas) and Richard Woodyard has been appointed VP of business development. Dilger has served as CFO, VP of Customer Support, controller and auditor for companies such as Andrew Shebay and Company and Arthur Anderson. Woodyard most recently served in senior sales leadership roles with Guidant, now a part of Boston Scientific. eCardio Diagnostics develops technologies, devices, services and solutions for the diagnosis, monitoring, and subsequent clinical management of cardiac arrhythmias, primarily in the ambulatory setting.
• Benjamin Loh Gek Lim has been named executive VP of worldwide sales and service for FEI (Hillsboro, Oregon). Loh most recently was executive VP of global field operations of Veeco Instruments. Loh will be based in Singapore. FEI makes instruments for nanoscale imaging, analysis and prototyping.
• Doug Berg has been named CEO of Lakewood Pathology Services (Lakewood, New Jersey) and has been appointed to the company’s board. Berg replaces Raza Bokhari, who has decided to step down one year after the company transitioned to its new majority owner, Water Street Healthcare Partners, a private equity firm. Bokhari will remain on Lakewood’s board. Berg has held a variety of management positions at laboratory and healthcare organizations, including being corporate VP of sales and marketing for Quest Diagnostics. Lakewood Pathology is a national pathology company providing multi-specialty services, including diagnostic procedures and specialist consultations.
• The board of OnCURE Medical (Newport Beach, California) reported the appointment of David Chernow as CEO. Chernow is currently a director of OnCURE and will continue to serve as a board member. OnCURE owns, operates and manages radiation centers and other HDR & PET/CT units, all located in California and Florida.
• Jim Meckstroth was named director of operations for SunTech Medical (Research Triangle Park, North Carolina). Most recently, Meckstroth was VP of development for Oriel Therapeutics. SunTech makes non-invasive blood pressure monitoring products.
• Jeff Howorth was named VP, strategic business group of Toshiba America Medical Systems (Tustin, California). Most recently, Howorth served as zone VP, strategic business for Philips Medical Systems. Toshiba America makes diagnostic imaging systems.
