• James Howard II has been appointed VP, regulatory sciences, at C.R. Bard (Murray Hill, New Jersey). Howard previously was president/CEO of Bio-Reg Associates. Bard develops technologies for vascular, urology and surgical specialties.
• Terence Gunning has been named CEO of Cadent (Carlstadt, New Jersey), effective March 19, and he will also serve on Cadent's board. Executive Chairman Amos Goren of Apax Partners will continue as chairman. Most recently, Gunning served as president of Datascope's Cardiac Assist Division. Cadent, which has a development center in Tel Aviv, is a provider of 3-D digital solutions for the orthodontic and dental industries.
• Paul Fitzhenry has joined Tyco International (Pembroke, Bermuda) as VP of corporate communications. He was most recently senior director and team leader for corporate communications at Pfizer. Tyco is a conglomerate providing products and services in electronics, fire and security, healthcare and engineered products and services.
