Gary Haberland, CEO of Genicon, said, “We believe that Genicon's state-of-the-art technologies and overall economic value will provide both immediate and long lasting substantial benefit throughout their customers' patient care systems.”

Annetta Nellams, senior manager of diversity contracting services for Broadlane, said: “Our program continues to provide Broadlane with additional coverage that includes niche products and smaller service providers, and has grown quickly over the past three years.”

• Carilion Clinic (Roanoke, Virginia) reported that it has implemented the Track GPS solution over mobile phones, developed by TeleNav (Santa Clara, California), to assist with the location and deployment of ambulances and emergency medical teams during local organized events. Carilion Patient Transportation Services was recently tasked with providing medical response teams for events that take place at the Martinsville Speedway, which often attracts thousands of people.

With TeleNav Track, Carilion said it can pinpoint emergency medical service (EMS) providers down to the section they are standing by at the speedway. This feature of TeleNav Track has reduced emergency response times to around one minute from the time a call is received to when the team arrives on the scene, it said. Carilion also uses TeleNav Track's online reporting tool that can show where all team members have been throughout the event.

TeleNav is a developer of wireless location-based services, including GPS navigation, Mobile Resource Management, asset GPS tracking and local search.
