• Raymond Land has been appointed senior vice president and CFO for Orchid BioSciences (Princeton, New Jersey), effective June 6. Land succeeds Michael Spicer, who resigned in December. Land most recently was the CFO for Genencor International, recently acquired by Danisco. Orchid provides identity DNA testing services for the human identity and agriculture markets.
• Tony Marsico has been promoted to chief executive officer of Patient Care Technology (PCTS; Aliso Viejo, California), a provider of information systems for high-acuity medical specialties, including the emergency department and operating room. Previously, Marsico was a founder and president of Healthcare I.T., which he established as a provider of passive-based tracking and communication software. PCTS is a subsidiary of Consulier Engineering, which is a provider of patient safety solutions.
