• Don Stanley joined Advanced Technology Ventures (Waltham, Massachusetts), a bi-coastal venture capital firm that invests in information technology and healthcare companies, as CFO. Stanley comes to Advanced Technology Ventures with eight years of experience as CFO at Battery Ventures.

• Martin Stefanelli has been named president and chief operating officer of Asterand (Detroit). Stefanelli comes to Asterand with 15 years experience in pathology services, having worked most recently at Ameripath as executive vice president and chief operating officer. Asterand operates a human tissue and blood bank that provides material and services for commercial and academic research into the causes and cures for major diseases.

• David Erinakes has joined Carrington Laboratories (Irving, Texas) as vice president, sales and marketing. Erinakes brings broad experience in the medical device, capital equipment and pharmaceutical sales marketplaces. Most recently, he served as vice president of sales for Viasys' NeuroCare Group. Carrington Laboratories is a biopharmaceutical and consumer products company using naturally occurring polymeric carbohydrates to manufacture products for mucositis, radiation dermatitis, wound and oral care as well as to manufacture the nutraceutical raw material Manapol and cosmetic raw material Hydrapol.
