Thierry Thaure has been appointed CEO of EsophyX (Redmond, Washington), a manufacturer of single-use ins-truments that will enable incisionless solutions to gastroesophageal reflux disease and other functional upper gastrointestinal diseases. John Adams, the company's founder and previously its CEO, will be assuming the responsibilities of chief operating officer. Thaure most recently served as senior vice president of sales and marketing at Accuray.

Stephen Seidel has been named general counsel and secretary of Kinetic Concepts (KCI; San Antonio), effective April 1. Seidel served for the past eight years as managing director of Cox Smith Matthews, a business and litigation law firm. While there, Seidel served KCI as lead outside counsel. Dennis Noll, former general counsel and secretary, will remain with KCI as vice president, community affairs. KCI is focused on advanced wound care and therapeutic surfaces.

Denis O'Connor has been named president and CEO of OmniCorder Technologies (Bohemia, New York), effective March 23. He also will join the company's board. O'Connor previously was head of commercial leadership for breast imaging firm DOBI Medical International. OmniCorder's BioScanIR System provides a non-invasive, radiation-free method for detecting and managing a variety of diseases that affect blood perfusion by detecting minute changes in temperature based on the pattern of infrared photon emissions over time.

Thomas George has been named CFO of Ophthonix (San Diego), a vision care company. George formerly was CFO of Oakley. Ophthonix is developing vision assessment and correction technologies to enhance visual acuity.
