Robert Koska has joined Cepheid (Sunnyvale, Calif-ornia) as senior vice president of sales & marketing. He has more than 20 years of management experience in the diagnostic industry, including divisional vice president for Vysis U.S. and Canadian sales at Abbott Molecular Diagnostics and senior vice president worldwide sales & marketing, Vysis, prior to that company being acquired by Abbott. Cepheid is a manufacturer of integrated systems that enable genetic assessment.

Craig Montesanti, vice president of finance at LifePoint (Ontario, California), has been promoted to the vacant post of CFO, effective immediately. Montesanti, who has been with the company for 15 months, has 22 years of financing management experience. LifePoint is a provider of noninvasive drug diagnostic technologies and solutions. It manufactures the Impact Test System, a rapid diagnostic testing, screening and drug monitoring device for use in the workplace, law enforcement, ambulances, pharmacies and home healthcare markets.

Adele Barbato will join MedQuist (Mount Laurel, New Jersey) as the company's first senior vice president of human resources, effective Feb. 28. She comes to MedQuist from a 35-year career with Unisys, where she most recently was vice president of human resources, international operations and global diversity. MedQuist, a member of the Philips group of companies, is a provider of electronic medical transcription, health information and document management products and services.

Steven Hanson has been appointed president and CEO of Pace Medical (Waltham, Massachusetts). Hanson has served as president of Zimmer Dental (formerly Sulzer Medica) for the past 11 years, prior to which he was vice president of international for Intermedics. Pace Medical manufactures single- and dual-chamber temporary cardiac pacemakers, a dual-chamber pacing analyzer, surgical extension cables and related accessories.
