Cortex Pharmaceuticals Inc. is extending the periods over which itsClass C, Class A and Class B warrants may be exercised by one year,nine months and one year, respectively. The Irvine, Calif., company(NASDAQ:CORX) said Tuesday it hopes to net $17.2 million with theextension.The proceeds will be used to advance clinical trials and drugdevelopment, said company president Alan Steigrod.About 1.1 million Class C warrants, issued in a May 1991 privateplacement, are outstanding. The last date they can be exercised is nowApril 30, 1995. The 2.2 million Class A warrants issued in connectionwith the company's initial public offering in July 1989 can now beexercised until April 17, 1995. Some 2.2 million Class B warrants areusable upon exercise of the Class A warrants. The exercise has beenextended to July 17, 1995.Jim Shrine
