Synbiotics Corp. said Wednesday it acquired small animalbiological products from SmithKline Beecham Animal Health.

Financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed.Synbiotics (NASDAQ:SBIO), a San Diego-based animal healthcompany, said the arrangement provides the company with abroader range of companion animal biological products for salethrough its national distribution and telemarketing network."Synbiotics' near-term strategy is to develop its base businessthrough sales of its animal health products and through in-licensing and co-marketing of third parties' animal healthproducts wherever possible," said Robert L. Widerkehr,Synbiotics chief executive officer and president. "This strategyis intended to provide a base of revenue," he said, "broadeningthe company's presence in the marketplace and expanding thefoundation from which to launch its next generation of animalproducts."
