AgriDyne Technologies Inc. said Wednesday its Azatinbiological insecticide is registered for the greenhouse, nurseryand ornamental markets in every state except Alaska,California and New York, and is pending in the latter two.
Azatin, intended to control pests such as whiteflies andleafminers, was launched last month. AgriDyne of Salt LakeCity said the product interferes with a target insect's molting,killing it three to 14 days after contact.
The active ingredient in Azatin is derived from seeds of India'sneem tree and is not toxic to birds, plants or mammals, thecompany said. It is also compatible with programs usingbeneficial insects.
