Biogen Inc. on Wednesday reported its third consecutiveprofitable year, with net earnings of $4.5 million, or 15 centsper share, on revenues of $69.6 million. For the 1990 year, theCambridge, Mass., company (NASDAQ:BGEN) reported earningsof $1.9 million, or 7 cents, on revenues of $59.4 million. Royaltyrevenues from Intron A alpha interferon and various hepatitisB products, which represented 81 per cent of revenues, wereup 26 percent over 1990.

For the quarter ended Dec. 31, Biogen had net income of $1million, or 3 cents per share, on revenues of $17.6 million. Forthe 1990 quarter, net income was $1.1 million, or 4 cents pershare, on revenues of $16.1 million.

Biogen shares were down $2 to $38.50 in Wednesday's broadsell-off of biotech shares.
