Lisabeth F.Murphy, formerly of the law firm of McCutchen, Doyle, Brown &Enersen, has become vice president of legal affairs for theSouth San Francisco, Calif., company, which is developingproducts for use against central nervous system diseases.

Biocyte Corp. of New York, which is developing cryopreserved(frozen) stem cells for therapeutics, has elected William R.Miller to its board. Miller had been vice chairman of Bristol-Myers Squibb Co.

Richard S. Dondero, formerly director of operations anddevelopment for Cistron Biotechnology Inc. (NASDAQ: CIST), aPine Brook, N.J., producer of lymphokine assay kits, has beennamed vice president of operations and product development.

Clinical Technologies Associates Inc. (NASDAQ:CTAI/CTAIW) ofElmsford, N.Y., has appointed Richard I. Steinhart chieffinancial officer. He had been general partner and CFO at CWGroup, a venture capital firm. The company develops orallydelivered therapeutics.

DNX Inc., a Princeton, N.J., developer of transgenic animals andmodel systems, has elected Desmond H. O'Connell to its board.He is chairman and chief executive of Osteotech Inc.

Marty Margagnoni has been appointed director of sales ofGenica Pharmaceutical Corp., a Worcester, Mass., developer ofdiagnostics and treatments for neuromuscular and neurologicaldisorders. Margagnoni had been national sales manager atGene-Trak Systems.

Bennet N. Cohen has joined Research Corporation Technologiesof Tucson, Ariz., a non-profit technology transfer organization,as an associate in RCT's life sciences group. Cohen had beensenior scientist at EniChem Americas Inc.

Somatogen Inc., a Boulder, Colo., developer of recombinanthemoglobin, has promoted Carol Cech, Ph.D., formerly directorof special projects, to vice president of technology andintellectual property. James C.T. Linfield, formerly a partnerwith the Denver law firm Davis, Graham and Stubbs, has joinedSomatogen as vice president of finance and chief financialofficer. Justin Neway, Ph.D., formerly director of fermentation,has been named director of process development. John Tedesco,formerly director of purification and process development, hasbeen named director of manufacturing operations.
