UPJOHN REPORTS RECORD PROFITS FOR QUARTER, YEARUpjohn Co. (NYSE:UPJ) of Kalamazoo, Mich., said that its recentfull-year sales and profits set records. However, per-sharecomparisons were affected by large corporate restructuringcosts. Per-share profits for 1990 include a 10-cent-per-sharegain from a pension credit, while it reduced last year's fourthquarter profits by 39 cents.

Life Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ:LTEK) of Gaithersburg, Md., saidfourth-quarter sales of life science research and industrialproducts other than fetal bovine serum increased $3.4 million,or 14 percent. Higher currency exchange rates increasedfourth-quarter results by $3 million, or 9 percent.
