The Singapore-based company plans to use the proceeds to advance clinical development of its portfolio with immediate initiation of two phase II programs for MNK and tropomyosin receptor kinase inhibitors.

Singapore startup Doctor Anywhere banks $88M for telehealth expansion

Health-tech startup Doctor Anywhere Ltd. (DA) has raised $88 million in series C fundraising, as the telehealth sector continues to be attractive for investors. The round is one of the largest private investments ever raised by a Southeast Asian digital health company and was led by growth equity investor Asia Partners. Novo Holdings, Philips, OSK-SBI Venture Partners, EDBI, Square Peg, IHH Healthcare, Kamet Capital and Pavilion Capital also participated.

Singapore scientists raise $3.6M to develop personalized mitral valve bioprosthesis

A research team from the National University Health System (NUHS) was awarded a translational grant of S$4.9 million (US$3.6 million) from the National Research Foundation Singapore Central Gap Fund to further develop its personalized mitral valve bioprosthesis. Currently, around 500 patients in Singapore and more than 1 million around the world require mitral valve surgery annually.

Breathonix gains provisional approval for COVID-19 breathalyzer test in Singapore

HONG KONG – Singapore authorities have given provisional approval for a locally developed breath test for COVID-19. The test is developed by Breathonix Pte Ltd., a spin-off company from the National University of Singapore through its Graduate Research Innovation Program. The company said its Brefence Go COVID-19 breath test system was the first test of its kind to secure provisional authorization in Singapore.

Esco Lifesciences Group raises $200M in series A round

Esco Lifesciences Group Ltd. has closed what it claims to be the largest private fundraising round by an Asia-based life sciences tools company. The Singapore-headquartered life sciences product company raised $200 million in an oversubscribed series A and crossover round. The financing was led by Vivo Capital and Novo Holdings A/S, with participation from new investors, including China Investment Corp. and Singapore-based global investor EDBI.

$43M raised in series A revs Engine to advance precision oncology portfolio

Engine Biosciences Pte. Ltd., a Singapore and Silicon Valley-based company using machine learning, combinatorial genetics and other technologies to hasten the discovery of gene interactions and biological networks underlying disease, has raised $43 million in series A financing. Polaris Partners led the round, which the company said would help it expand its portfolio of precision oncology therapeutics, prepare for its first clinical programs, and scale its technology platform.
