The FDA released a draft guidance that deals with benefit-risk assessments for compliance and enforcement action, much of which seems to describe the agency's current practice. However, the FDA has indicated that the risks associated with a particular device may be extrapolated to other devices made by that manufacturer, as well as to the same device type manufactured by other companies.
