As the wife of an active duty service member, I really hate to complain about the military healthcare system. There are a lot of benefits to being covered under Tricare, the military’s healthcare plan. Brain surgeons now have another tool for treating brain cancer patients as the FDA has cleared the GliaSite radiation therapy system from IsoRay (Richland, Washington). The GliaSite system is a balloon catheter device used to treat brain cancer. According to IsoRay, the system's balloon catheter is a landmark technology that allows physicians to treat more brain cancer patients than ever before with internal radiation or brachytherapy.
