Think Surgical Inc. is deepening ties with South Korean company Curexo Inc. through a new development and distribution deal. Under the terms of the agreement, Think will have exclusive rights to distribute Curexo’s Cuvis-Joint robotic platform, including any additional technology, in the U.S. and other countries. The orthopedic robot is currently used by surgeons in Korea and India for pre-planning surgery.
TORONTO - Medtronic Canada ULC, a subsidiary of Dublin-based Medtronic plc, has launched what it calls the “the first dedicated robotic assisted spine surgery platform in Canada.” The Mazor integrates surgical planning, workflow and execution by combining navigation and robotic technologies.
PERTH, Australia – Singular Health Group Ltd. was awarded AU$50,000 (US$37,000) in funding from Australia’s Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization’s (CSIRO) Kick-Start program to undertake a research project to develop artificial intelligence (AI)-based tools to automatically design patient-specific cranial implants. The AI will be integrated into Singular Health’s surgical planning software for editing before the cranial implants are 3D printed.
PARIS – Peek Health SA raised $3.5 million in series A funding to ramp development of its 3D pre-op digital planning tools used in orthopedic surgery. This investment was led by two Portuguese venture capital firms: Grosvenor House of Investments SCR SA and Portugal Ventures SA.
HONG KONG – Israel and U.S.-based Rsip Vision Ltd. unveiled an advanced joint segmentation tool to assist with the planning of revision arthroplasty and other orthopedic procedures for patients with pre-existing metal implants. The detailed, noninvasive artificial intelligence (AI)-based software module enables quick and accurate segmentation of different joints from CT scans of hips, knees, shoulder and spines.
