A study designed to evaluate a new Burst mode in some St. Jude Medical Inc. (St. Paul, Minn.) spinal cord stimulation (SCS) devices compared to traditional tonic stimulation has shown a strong patient preference for the intermittent "burst" pulses for chronic pain.
