Mississauga, Ontario's Solaris Disinfection Inc. began developing its Lytbot core technology five years ago because of deficiencies it saw in other disinfection technologies at U.S. and Canadian hospitals. These include systems that use low pressure intensity mercury vapor that generates enough UV radiation to eliminate approximately 50 percent of the pathogens in hospital rooms.
