'Bold step': UK is first to approve the use of mitochondria donation

LONDON – The UK has become the first country in the world to approve the use of mitochondria donation to prevent inherited mitochondrial diseases, with members of parliament (MPs) voting by 382 to 128 in favor in a free vote on Tuesday.
