WASHINGTON — Device makers are keeping a close eye on developments in the nation's capital after the Nov. 4 GOP landslide, and opponents of the device tax and supporters of tax reform excited about the prospects that Congress will move bills to address both issues. JC Scott, senior executive VP for government affairs at the Advanced Medical Technology Association (AdvaMed; Washington) told Medical Device Daily that the question of offsets for the device tax repeal is not as big an impediment as is often believed, and that this is one reason AdvaMed is "cautiously optimistic" Congress will repeal the tax in 2015.
